This elementary school was established in 1874 and closed in 2005 because of the decrease of no of children in this area. This area is filled with the nostalgia and this place has all elements as we expect in the old traditional elementary school in Japan.

In Japan, enthusiastic lovers of the comedy must have seen this school in TV or DVD so many times. In the comedy, this school's name is 'Kuchibiru Nishi Koukou (Mouth West High School)'. In that comedy, there is the strict rule that all comedians MUST NOT laugh at all in any event. However many funny traps try to make them laugh and if they laugh they are punished. Onsen class
Kamishiobara elementary school had been famous because it had the small bathroom where kids had the class of 'Onsen (Hot spring)' to learn the manner to enjoy Onsen. If you visit without person who know here, you will not be able to recognize the Onsen room, because it looks like just simple small warehouse.
